Armyworm Monitoring

Armyworm Update Week of August 14

This week the numbers have been all over the place; in some locations the numbers have increased, in others they have remained similar to last week, and in a few the numbers have decreased. Regardless, it is clear there was a peak of moth activity last week. Keep an eye on the field, we should start seeing small worms now. Larger worms next week. Remember that even though the numbers may be high near your field, that doesn't mean the armyworms will be there. Scout, look for worms and signs of armyworm feeding on the panicle.
